Submission Guidelines

3 Steps: 

1. Prepare your Photograph (check the specs below)
2. Create an Info Doc (see required details below)
3. $5 Submission Fee (see details below)

2. Photograph: 

PHOTO SUBMISSIONS MUST ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

• FILM SUBMISSIONS ONLY.

• All submissions must be shot on film. No digital images will be accepted.

• Film images must not be altered (photoshopped) beyond normal, reasonable or necessary editing adjustments. Spot/dust removal, and adjustments to levels, as well as colour correction is ok. Any submissions that are obviously photoshopped will be removed.

• Carefully choose your photo that best suits the monthly theme.

• Only one (1) photo submission per person, per month will be allowed.

• Late entries will not be accepted.
  
  

PHOTO/SCAN SPECS :

• Print Resolution: 300 ppi and measuring 10 inches / 3000 pixels on the long side (see the screenshot below). Images can be landscape or portrait in orientation. For square images: 300 ppi and measuring 8 inches / 2400 pixels.
• File Format: JPG 
• Colour Space: preferred format is sRGB
• Colour Mode: 16 Bit preferred, 8 Bit acceptable
• Maximum File Size" 20 MB
• No white borders 
• No Watermarks
• Dust/scratches removal encouraged for professionally printing.
• FileName: please name your file as follows:
  Photographer’s first and last name, month, year and theme, separated with dashes (e.g. “NameSurname-Nov-2023-Daido-Moriyama.jpg”)


If you have trouble with any of the specs, please DM us on Instagram and we’ll help you out!

• IMPORTANT: Images should be family friendly for public display. No graphic images please.

• Only images that are relevant to the monthly theme will be considered for selection.

• Submit only images that belong to you. Do not submit images taken by someone else. Images in violation of copyright will be removed.

• Photos can be in colour or black and white (unless specified in the Theme).​
  
  

2. Info Doc: 

File Formats: PDF, Word doc, Text file 

• FileName: please name your file as follows:
  Photographer’s first and last name, month, year and 'Info', separated with dashes (e.g. “NameSurname-Nov-2023-Info.jpg”)


• File Contents:
  1. First and Last Name
  2. Record of your Submission Fee Payment
  3. Instagram Handle
  4. Email
  5. Telephone Number
  6. Title of Your Photograph
  7. Film Type
  8. Camera Type
  9. Developing Details (Home developed or Lab — note the Lab if you’d like us to tag them).
  10. And a brief paragraph about your photograph 

Note: Your contact details will only be used to contact you for the purpose of this contest, and will not be shared with anyone. 

 

2. Submission Fee: 

Submission Fee:  $5 CND
To help cover expenses we need to charge a small submission fee this season. For just $5 CND (the price of a fancy coffee) per entry/month, you’ll have a chance at great exposure and amazing prizes!
